Funding Bonds for Oglethorpe County Authorized Vote 1941
The Georgia General Assembly proposes amending Article 7 Section 7 Paragraph 1 to let Oglethorpe County issue Funding Bonds to pay off existing warrant indebtedness, after which the county would operate on a cash basis with checks drawn on the county treasury. A special election will decide if bonds are issued, with tax levies to cover principal and interest within thirty years, and bonds to be validated like original obligations. The measure, approved March 27 1941, is set for the June 3 1941 general election.
