At Richland, the Columbus district conference heard Rev. Dr. T. D. Ellis of Louisville preach on Whom Do Men Say That I Am. Morning sessions featured speakers from various Methodist interests. Licenses were renewed for several local preachers, and others had their character passed without renewal. The spiritual progress report noted strides and outlined fields for further growth. Taylor Co H D Club to Present Program in Americas
The Taylor County Home Demonstration Club plans a county program built from community demos held May 24 at Butler High School and will present in Americas on July 6. Hundreds of singers from Taylor and neighboring counties attended the Southwest Georgia Singing Association event held in Butler. A. H. NeSmith of Manchester presided with assistance from A. E. Hancock Killed in Auto Mishap on River Bridge
William L. Hancock Jr. died about eight o'clock Sunday night after his 1937 Ford tudor sedan was side-swiped on the Mint River Bridge twelve miles north of Butler on Highway 3. Miss Josephine Green of Atlanta was seriously injured with a fractured skull and broken ankle. Two Columbus men in a truck were treated for facial and body cuts. their condition not serious. Sheriff John M. Bone said the wreck occurred near the Taylor county end of the bridge.
