Taylor County Georgia commissioners met May 5 1942 with all members present. They approved last meeting minutes and paid county bills. Vacancies were filled on Butler and Cross Roads Community Library Boards. Home Hygiene Class Taught By County Nurse
A home hygiene training course directed by Miss Sara Windham, County Nurse, starts next Tuesday afternoon at the courthouse. The four week program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 7 pm with free instruction except for the textbook. Interested residents should notify Mrs. L. M. The Taylor County Board of Education sponsors a program to mail the Butler Herald weekly to about 225 local men in the U S armed forces at a special rate of one dollar for twelve months. Subscriptions are being collected through Superintendent W T Austin with donor names and mailing instructions to ensure correct addresses and publication info for service members.

Butler Boy Scouts enjoyed a camping trip to Fickling Mill with Emory Gilbert leading and Mr Bloodworth and Mr Dean aiding. New $5 Federal Auto Tax Stamp On Sale Tuesday
Washington June five dollar federal auto tax stamp goes on sale June 10 at post offices and internal revenue offices. Officials say possession of the stamp will be required for gasoline rationing books in areas with fuel controls and will serve as identification linking the coupon book to the vehicle. The new stamp covers the fiscal year starting July 1 and replaces the $2.09 stamp issued February 1.
