Georgia Wins Nearly Ten Million in Highway Grants
Atlanta reports Georgia will receive 9,884,916 for highway construction and grade crossing elimination as part of a 40 million federal road program. The sum splits into 4,988,967 for construction and 4,895,949 for crossing removals, with Georgia leading southern states in allotment while political friction with Washington continues. The highway department plans swift action once federal guidance arrives, amid talks of eliminating two Atlanta grade crossings and upgrading projects across the state.
