Neisler, a farmer in Fickling mill, started poultry as a side line with a $100 loan. He raised about 400 White Leghorns, focusing on white eggs for nearby markets. The venture quickly paid back the notes due July 1 and December 1, funded by fryers and pullet eggs, after a small brooder house and equipment were built.
District friends express general regret at Dr Hugh Taylor and family leaving Cuthbert for Savannah. The Taylor family, long active in church and social life, will relocate after the school term ends. Mrs Taylor influential in church work and social clubs. Dr Taylor noted for his service in postal work and Hood family musical contributions.
Mr G T Watson a Whitesboro pioneer dies at 7 45 am May 22 in Tecumseh Oklahoma after a two week illness. Funeral held at 2 pm Thursday from the home of daughter Mrs M W Scheid with Rev J W Eptings officiating. Interment at Oakwood cemetery. Survived by six sons three daughters and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In Montezuma Georgia a 22 year old Fort Valley man Robert N Williams of the Andersonville CCC camp drowned after jumping from a bridge to aid a young woman who apparently jumped into Flint river Miss Ann Walker of Fitzgerald survived initial resuscitation efforts The incident involved rescuers Ben Ek Webb H A Moore and two Andersonville CCC youths aiding the drowning man and the injured woman before Williams sank.
Registration for the Georgia Southwestern College summer session at Americus opens Wednesday morning June 12. The six week program offers standard credits, aids teachers in renewing certificates, and focuses on the state’s new curriculum program with three instructors leading courses on curriculum construction and methods. An outstanding state-wide faculty has been announced.

Butler high school closes the 1934-35 year under Prof W P Folds with strong staff Julius Edwards leads music. senior class plays "Kicked Out of College" under Miss Mary Luke. Commencement features Rev A J Burrell sermon and Hon Hugo Howell address with W F Steed remarks and class reflections.
The Butler cannery operates Tuesdays and Fridays. Bring produce prepared to one day prior and do not pre can before delivery. An empty can is charged one cent per can to cover fuel and incidentals. funds go to local plant expenses. Q. E. Bell, Vice Agri Teacher.
Miss Beverly Wheatcroft president of the Georgia Library Association leads a statewide drive during the week of June 18 to collect books for camp readers. A committee of notable Georgians asks private donors to supply fiction non fiction vocational titles and children's books to establish rural and camp libraries with state distribution coordinated by the Taylor county relief office. Contributions should be brought to the relief office by June 8 for total state reporting and delivery to Miss Wheatcroft.
Rev. J. M. Cutler, presiding elder of the Columbus district, spoke to a large Methodist congregation Sunday night marking his first sermon here since his 1934 appointment. Although new to the local church, he has preached in Butler circuit and other county churches, earning appreciation for his timely address.
A Georgia sale at Butler Tuesday auctioned 146 naval store timber leases formerly operated by T. J. Davis and T. B. Sullivan. The Butler Naval Zone Co under J. S. Greene won the bid, expanding its regional naval stores holdings amid broad interest from Georgia and other states.

The Herald notes receipt of the first cotton bloom mailed Monday by Mr. J. B. Sealy of Reynolds. Sealy reports a ten acre crop of the Coker variety that he expects to be the best and most promising in years of experience.

Beginning Monday July 8 a tonsil clinic will be held in Butler for children needing tonsil removal. Parents should register with the Child Hygiene Nurse for information and appoint their child. Mrs Sara Windham the Child Hygiene Nurse will be in her office every Saturday morning from 8 to 12.
