Americus Baptists approve costly church annex plan
Americus Ga June 1 The Americus Baptist Church congregation passed its building committee report for an educational plant annex to cost between 28000 and 30000 dollars. The two story red brick annex will measure 48 by 96 feet and be placed on the north side of the present building. W E Donnody Jr of Macon is the architect. The project includes alterations to the rear sun annex and a day school expansion. Rev L M Polhill of Vermont is to assume the pastorate, arriving June 4.

Tornado Child Dies in Auto Crash Near Gainesville
Gainesville Georgia May 28 A child hurt in the April Gainesville tornado died in a South Carolina auto crash last night. William Perry Moss eight weeks old, was hurled from a car driven by grandfather E M McJunken of Gainesville and crushed to death when an oncoming car sideswiped the vehicle.

Refunds Planned For Flint River Bridge Donors
Taylor County Commissioners announce refunds to all donors or their representatives who contributed to the Flint River Bridge on Highway Three between Taylor and Upson counties. Refunds begin at one tenth of the donated amount now and another tenth each March 26 thereafter until full repayment, with Chas C. Stone in Butler assisting claimants to prepare proof of donation such as checks.

Veterans Bonus Bonds to Be Delivered June 15 16
Instructions outline payment of adjusted compensation to World War veterans. On June 15 the Butler post office will receive the first shipment of registered letters containing bonus bonds from the Veterans Administration. Urban veterans will be served in the afternoon and evening, while rural route recipients must be at their boxes with identifying witnesses. Each veteran must be identified by the postmaster, and no one can receive a letter for another. Two receipts required, one for the Veterans Administration and one for the post office. Rural carriers begin delivery June 16, and rural veterans are urged not to visit the post office. If bonds are not received by the evening of June 15 or morning of June 16, mailouts will continue from June 15 onward. Positive identification with two witnesses is required to exchange bonds for a treasury check. Turn to page 8 for more details.
