Dr. J. A. Fountain Dies in Macon at 53
Dr. J. A. Fountain of Macon died of a heart attack at a local hospital after a two day illness. A Vanderbilt trained physician, he practiced in Macon for 26 years and served in World War I. He was 53, survived by his wife, two children, and several siblings, with funeral services held at Memorial Chapel and burial in Riverside cemetery.

Butler native buys Shellman drug firm in Georgia
Dr Julian Gill of Ellaville has purchased the Shellman Drug Company in Shellman Georgia from Dr J B Cherry and assumes charge. The business will continue at the same location under the same trade name with J B McLeod of Shellman joining Dr Gill. Dr Gill is a Butler native and former Army veteran who studied at Southern College of Pharmacy and the University of Georgia.

Brief Electrical Storm Triggers Five Fires in Macon
A brief electrical storm in Macon lasting just over 30 minutes felled trees and downed power lines, interrupting telephone service and causing five fires from lightning and wind. Temperatures dropped from 96 to 68 as a 30 mph wind and 0.49 inch rainfall were recorded, with firefighting units on alert for a 35 minute span.

Funeral services for Richard Montfort Scandrett 59 were held at Adel Sunday following his death in Fort Lauderdale Florida June 25 after a long illness. Born December 7 1887 in Butler he had lived in Hollywood Florida. Miss Claudia Pierce died at her brother R E Pierces home in Fulton Kentucky on Tuesday June 24 after about a 30 day illness. Born in 1869 in Taylor County she lived in Butler before moving to Fulton two years ago. Funeral services were held Thursday at 4 PM in Fulton. She is survived by her brother and a number of nieces and nephews.

More than five hundred citizens attended the Reynolds Community Day Meeting.
