Charles Chapman 22 of Ellaville was killed when his car sideswiped a passing vehicle and hit a tree on the Americus Ellaville road about 11 pm. Three companions, Miss Charlotte Jones, Lewis Dyess, and Miss Dolly Ellis, were seriously hurt and treated at Americus Sumter hospital. Youth Fatally Hurt In Fall From Wagon
An eleven year old boy named Isogene Booth was crushed to death when he fell from a wagon whose wheels passed over his head. He died after efforts to save him failed at his mother Mrs. Edna Booth’s home. Funeral services were held at Union Cemetery with Rev. J. A. Martin conducting.

Local Couple Seriously Injured In Night Crash
Mr and Mrs William Pepper temporarily staying with Mrs Layfield suffered severe injuries when their car collided with a Ramp Construction Co truck on the Butler Reynolds road near Mr W G Hill. Mrs Pepper required over twenty stitches and lost a thumb while Mr Pepper had facial wounds and a bruised chest. The incident occurred Saturday night during a Masonry project for a new theater.

Death of Hon Thomas M Hunt Prominent Hancock County Attorney
Hon Thomas M Hunt former Hancock County attorney died at his Sparta home Wednesday at age 82. He served Hancock in both the state senate and house of representatives. He was married to Claudia Montfort, who preceded him in death. Surviving are a daughter Mrs James N Powell and several nieces and nephews including Mrs Tim Boone of Macon.
