Man Facing Chair Ordered to Pay Widow in Murder Case
Hamilton. Gay John Wallace, Meriwether County farmer facing electrocution, must compensate the widow of Wilson Turner. A Meriwether County Superior Court jury awarded Mrs. Wilson Turner $7,500 damages against Wallace and Hering Sivell, who is serving a life sentence in the slaying. Court officials said payment terms did not affect the verdict. Wallace learned of the ruling in his Fulton County jail cell.

Death of Dr. Bentley Adams Remains In Thomaston
Funeral services were held Tuesday at First Baptist Thomaston for Dr. Bentley Childs Adams longtime Upson County physician. He died after several months illness with attending physicians from home and state. Survived by wife a nurse, daughter Mrs Jim Woods of Atlanta and son Bentley Adams three sisters and three brothers with other relatives. Mr. Adams served as deacon treasurer Mason Shriner Kiwanis past president and chamber director. Burial details not provided in readable text.
