Community Women’s Association minutes and June plans
On Wednesday the CWA held a meeting in the absence of Mrs Hawker. They reviewed the minutes, read a letter of appreciation from Mr Knox, and discussed the State Council on June 10 and 11 in Claridge Arcade. Children’s Day saw many attendees and a sand tray gift from Mrs Collins.

Avoca club race results and charity drives noted
Results show Mrs Campbell and Mrs De Vey among winners in a 16 hole event with best stick scores by Miss Pearce and Mrs Pettet. A Food for Britain and Clothing Day appeal is planned with donations requested for May and June meetings. Road workers joke as a local anecdote closes the item.
