The Junk Sale held by the Burra and District War Memorial Committee raised funds totaling £35 13s 6d with additional donations noted. A trading table run by Burra CWA and auctioneer Mr Lisle Tiver oversaw the event though country turnout was modest. proceeds plus a ladies’ table brought the day’s total to £43 13s 6d. Donations from Miss E A Scovell and Jettner Bros plus CWA support acknowledged as the committee plans a memorial oval and cycle track at Victoria Park with an estimated £3,000 needed to complete the project. Further donations welcomed.
