Bus Service Crisis Leaves 40 Children Without Transport
District education officials report no bus service for over forty high and primary school children as tenders failed to deliver a new vehicle. The Christmas contract was cancelled, a bid to rehire the old contractor at the same price was rejected, and fresh tenders drew no response by January 30. The Education Department warned the High School Council that service would lapse, leaving families and students facing disrupted schooling until a solution is found.
