Goldebrourk Mort & Co Limited held their monthly Burra market on Friday the 6th with 2597 sheep yarded and 2455 sold. Strong demand for young wethers and ewes, high clearance under the hammer, prices quoted for various ages and classes, buyers from Waikerie Crystal Brook and other districts attended, ponies sold well though trotters slack.

Death of Mr James Mathew Miller of Gumreek

The death occurred on Friday of Mr James Mathew Miller of Gumreek aged AT years. He had been ill for twelve months and was taken to Adelaide for further treatment after a short stay in Burra Hospital. A lengthy cortege accompanied the funeral from the Pastoral Methodist Church to Mintaro.
