The first band member was stricken As the band left the Field following their halftone performance. Band director Lewis Felps said that none of the band members were believed to be seriously ill and that he Felt the symptoms were caused by the heat. Nevertheless the band was forced to disband change from their band uniforms to lighter clothing and spent the second half administering to each other. I think that tha people of this District have proven that they Are quite Abl to do that. A a concerned citizen i will of course vote for the candidate i consider Best qualified but i want to work with and if i can to assist anyone our people select. On p.4 Cycle mishap injures sheriffs granddaughter Burnet a wreck involving a motorcycle and an automobile in town Friday sent Rachel Lynn Curington 17, to the intensive care unit at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin with a broken Collar Bone and shoulder multiple Breaks of her left leg and internal injuries. Miss Curington granddaughter of sheriff Wallace Ridden was Riding on a Honda 450 motorcycle drive by Steven Barret Everett 16, at 2 17 . Heading West on Highway 29 in the City when they were met head on by a 1974 Mercury Cougar which was turning left from Highway 29 eastbound to Boundary St. Tha Driver of tha car Carls Tatum Riley apparently did not see the two on tha Cycle. Everett suffered cuts scrapes and contusions on his arms hands and shoulders he was released from medical care to recuperate at Home.
