RCA Rodeo to Feature Top Cowboys at Burnet County Fairgrounds

The Burnet County Fairgrounds hosts the first RCA Rodeo here since the early 1950s with top cowboys from across the United States vying for 1500 dollars in prize money over Friday and Saturday.

Septic Tanks Inspections and Rodeo Activities Noted

The Texas Water Quality Board will renew licenses for Highland Lakes septic systems within 200 feet of Lakes Buchanan LBJ Marble Falls and Inks and near Lake Travis. Reinspections cost 25 dollars with five year permits. The LCRA will notify owners and about 2800 systems will be checked. Blood Pressure Clinic May 22 1975 at local communities

Shepperd Memorial Hospital School of Vocational Nursing hosts a free blood pressure clinic in May for hypertension or hypotension detection. Barnet High duo captures state title with three wins in Austin

State champions David Holly and Wayne Spiekermann led Barnet High to a weekend win streak in Austin. They defeated Karnes City 6 1, 6 1 on Friday, advancing to the semifinals where a close victory followed before a final match against Gladewater.

Burnet City Council Revises Pool Ticket Rules

The May 13 meeting re set season tickets to 10 for children under 13 and 20 for all 13 and over, with no family pass. The council urged reactivating the swimming pool advisory committee and approved non permanent park posts for a fiddlers contest. A new long range airport plan and other items were deferred.

Burnet Chamber Plans Membership Drive Meetings

Howard Benton, chairman, calls meetings on May 12 and May 14 to launch a Burnet Chamber of Commerce membership campaign. The organization is funded by more than 175 local business firms and individuals who elect a 12 member board that selects officers and forms committees to guide community growth.
