Predawn tornado hits Burnet area causing mobile home damage
A tornado struck Burnet at 5 a.m. injuring no one seriously but demolishing two mobile homes and damaging several more in Burnet Hills Trailer Park three miles east of Burnet on Hwy 29. The Hooton family survived with minor scratches as their trailer was lifted and tossed atop a car. Memorial echoes of the 1973 storm linger in local memory.
