Burnet Man Named To PEC Advisory Board

Johnson City PEC board under new president Guthrie Taylor of Bertram held a short open session then a three hour executive session. The meeting covered LCRA surcharges, PEC dues, patronage payments, and the appointment of Warner Clark to the advisory group replacing Kit Carson. The group discussed January fuel surcharges and the new PEC headquarters wing with an auditorium for public use beginning February.

Ten Horses Recovered in Hood County Theft Case

The Hood County Sheriff's Office reports recovery of four of eleven stolen horses and one trailer. Gary Kieth Maxwell, 20, is in custody on charges linked to the thefts. The horses from Hugh Fitzsimmons Ranch were housed with Dr. J P Dodgen at Buchanan Dam for halter training.

Burnham Brothers Sporting Goods reports $10,000 in rifles and pistols taken from its Marble Falls shop on a Sunday early morning break in. Sheriff Wallace Riddell offers a 500 dollar reward for information leading to arrests, bringing the total to 1,000 dollars. Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation.

Soldiers Held On 25000 Bond In Burnet County Robbery

Two Fort Hood soldiers were jailed in Burnet County on 25000 bond each after an armed robbery at a liquor store on Narnia Road near the Lampasas line. C D Vann of Lampasas reported two young men acting oddly inside before the holdup. He heard a gunshot after opening the sack of money and did not see the weapon.

Burnet begins balloting for its Outstanding Citizen of 1975 with winner announced at the Chamber of Commerce banquet on Saturday February 21 1976 at 7 p m in Burnet Elementary School Cafetorium. Ballot requires signature and counts as direct vote for the named candidate with one ballot per voter.
