Marble Falls Teen Killed in Christmas Eve Crash

Patricia Kay Stewart, 13, died in a one car rollover on AR 1431 in Marble Falls at 4 30 a m Christmas Eve. An unlicensed 15 year old Marble Falls resident, driver of the vehicle, will not be prosecuted. Two other passengers uninjured. Miss Stewart was an eighth grader at Marble Falls Junior High. Funeral services were held Friday December 26 in Marble Falls. Burial at Marble Falls City Cemetery.

Burnet County Sheriff Wallace Riddell Seeks Re election

Burnet county sheriff Wallace Riddell, in office 37 years since 1939, announced his plan to run again. A Spicewood native and lifelong Burnet resident, he started as a farm boy and cotton ginner, later running The Riddell Truck Line, and is known as an RCA Cowboy active in rodeo. He and Essie Hollingsworth Riddell have four children and five grandchildren.

Former MF Man Charged In Christmas Day Arrest

Andy Reed Penny 22 of Clarksville, formerly Marble Falls, faces charges of driving without a valid Texas license and possession of under two ounces of marijuana after a Christmas arrest two miles west of Bertram on Texas 29. He has multiple warrants, including theft by check and failure to appear, and was jailed in Burnet County with bonds set at 500 and 250. He is to appear before Judge B Pogue. He was fined 25 by Justice of the Peace. Gary Turner investigated early Saturday a vehicle roadside incident involving reflectors.

Creek Property Has New Look

Burnet officials and property owners completed cleanup along the creek bank near Hamilton Creek on Texas 29. G F Boutilier of Kingsland Ronnie Waggoner and Ernest Cochran led the effort to remove the eyesore and prepare for a parking lot project.
