Trustees unanimously approved accepting a lakefront parcel on Lake Buchanan appraised at 12 500 to fund a new Burnet football stadium. Donor Don Driver of Ruidoso New Mexico placed the land in the Booster Club name. proceeds will be earmarked for stadium development under school board direction.

Two children playing with firecrackers caused a brush fire on the Arlin Glimp ranch near Burnet. Volunteers from Burnet and Bertram battled 800 to 1,000 acres for about five hours using the creek as a water source. About 25 to 30 people assisted as dry windy conditions persisted.

LCRA Seeks Rate Change Affecting Burnet Utilities
