A refund provision existed in years past for the reimbursement of the Cost of utilities to Subdivider out of revenues collected from the use of the utilities but was repealed in recent years. The Library was built without county funds according to Zim Merman relying solely on Grants contributions and City appropriations while the Burnet Library Herman Brown free Library has its utilities paid by the county Oakalla Briggs Bertram and Marble Falls All pay the utilities for their branches Johnny Allen said he thought it was unfair to compare the Briggs and Oakalla libraries to the Marble Falls Library because of the size of the building and the volume of business Quot of the county pays for the Burnet utilities it should pay for Marble Falls Quot Allen said the commissioners figured that the Marble Falls utilities would take a sizeable chunk of the Library funds which Are seven cents per $100 valuation county clerk Wayne Barton noted that it was an Issue to be considered when the county sets its tax rate in february according to Zimmerman s figures the Marble Falls Library handles More circulation with less staff than the Brown Library.
