Paul Michael Faugstad of Buffalo Center pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated first offense after a Jan 19 2016 traffic stop by the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office. He was sentenced to two days in jail, fined 1250 dollars plus surcharges and costs, and ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and comply with all recommendations.

Buffalo Center amends dangerous dog rules with DNA testing option
The ordinance adds a DNA based breed determination for dogs listed in Sections 56.01 L and M of the Buffalo Center City Code. If an owner contests a dog’s breed, they can submit a veterinarian written report showing no more than ten percent of any restricted breeds, allowing keeping the dog. Breeds exceeding ten percent remain prohibited. The measure includes standard legal provisions and effective date language.

Rake City Council meet June 13 2016 regular session

Murder at Best Western Frontier Motor Lodge shocks Council Bluffs
Lee Rotatori was found stabbed to death in room 106 of the Best Western Frontier Motor Lodge on June 25 1982. Investigators note no forced entry, possible sexual motive but no conclusive evidence. A $3000 reward went unclaimed as the case remained unsolved.
