TMNH Weekly Activity Highlights by Sandy Bashans

A mellow TMNH week with outdoor time and a Tuesday salad luncheon hosted by Methodist ladies. June birthdays were quiet but trivia and homemade ice cream plus cookies featured in the day’s lunches. Memorial services were held for Ella Dirkson on Wednesday.

North Iowa Scholarship Fund posts strong 2011 12 tally

The 2011 12 North Iowa Scholarship fund campaign awarded over 70000 in scholarships and grants to the North Iowa High School Class of 2012. Brad Huntington credits generous donors and lists memorials and honors including gifts in memory of George Winter Dave Abels Marcella Venteicher Sterling Meyer Virginia Cook Cyndi Winter and others. Donations of 100 or more will be added to a school display plaque with future names noted.

Family Picnic at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Planned

The public is invited to a Family Picnic style meal at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Sunday June 24 from 4 30 to 6 30 p m The afternoon will include a free pork roast meal and lawn games for the family.

Legion Auxiliary meeting set for June 28

Legion Auxiliary 21 will meet Thursday at 2 pm at Driver's Choice Restaurant. Iowa state regulations require a quorum to proceed, so another meeting follows. All members must attend as the 2011-12 year ends on June 30. For questions call 562-2886 or 562-2535.

Creepy Creatures visit local libraries in Iowa towns

Blank Park Zoo educators host a Summer Library Program at Buffalo Center and Thompson Public Libraries on June 26. Sessions at Buffalo Center 11:00 am and Thompson 1:00 pm feature about 45 minutes with at least three live animals. Free but limited attendance. pre-register by calling 641-562-2546 or 641-584-2829.
