Iowa House Hears Late Week Action on Liquor and Truck Bills
Branstad reports from the Eighth District on extended hours as controversial measures pass. The Sunday liquor bill allows sales in places with over 80 percent food income and enables local option bans. A truck bill permits 5 foot double bottom trucks on four lane highways with limits and state approval. Iowa safety data note no fatal crashes with 60 foot bottoms. The speaker congratulates Boy’s and Girl’s State delegates. Mrs. Orvin Schnebly visits House.
