Served in US Army in Okinawa during Korean War. Married Virginia Gilbert Sept 13, 1953. Survived by Virginia, daughter Patricia, son Daryl, granddaughter Malinda. Preceded by son Gary and siblings.

Ella Dirksen, 95, of Buffalo Center died Sunday June 3 at Timely Mission Nursing Home. Services were June 6 at First Reformed Church Buffalo Center with Pastor Bill Peake. burial at Olena Mound Cemetery. Born November 11 1916 near Buffalo Center she grew up nearby and worked at Marshall Swift in Mason City and at a local meat locker before later joining a nursing home housekeeping department.

Ella Janssen enjoyed organ and piano playing and gave lessons for children while singing in church for many years. She taught herself guitar, loved travel with family, and called her housedogs her babies. She was the oldest confirmed member of the First Reformed Church for 78 years. Survived by nieces Carol Vodraska Agnes Hartman great nieces and many cousins. Preceded by Eka Janssen and Robert Janssen.
