Titonka Farmer Killed When Tractor Upsets
William Senne Jr., 35, died when his tractor slipped on an icy gravel road near Titonka. He was found pinned face down in snow and ice, death due to suffocation per the county coroner. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church with Rev. A Mardort officiating.

Mrs. John Stickler 70 Osceola died in a head on crash near Jewell while en route to Elmore Minnesota to join her son Don Stickler. Don was ahead in a separate car. Mrs Don Stickler was injured and treated at an Ames hospital.
Hit and Run Driver Fined $300 in Forest City Court
Warren Dodd of Woden pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident after a November 28 collision with Walter Rose of Buffalo Center. He was fined $300 and costs, ordered to surrender his driver’s license and permit to operate a truck, and hospital notes mention Mrs. Rose’s injuries.

Camera Club Plans Home Meetings for Next Season
The Camera Club held a brief meeting in the Legion Rooms with Duane Veach presiding. Peggy Howe invited the group to meet January 8 at her Buf Hotel home, with Dori Beste and H. C. Hovland on the entertainment committee and Ya Murray to supply funds. The finance report showed $28.02. An annual contest by the Zonal State Development Commission was announced for amateur and professional divisions in black and white prints and color transparencies. A practical enlarger demonstration followed, with Cook assisted by Duane ac and George Russ.

Suit Seeks Damages Over 1950 Highway Collision
John Korte of Buffalo Center files in Kossuth District Court on December 4 seeking 1910.33 dollars for injuries to Bruno Korte from a June 2 1950 collision five miles west of Buffalo Center on Highway 9 as Sachs entered the road from a farm driveway. Bruno was hospitalized three days with a chest injury.

Farmers Night School Holds First Meeting
Forty one farmers attended the first meeting of the Adult Farmers Evening School. A Swine Management unit was covered. A Dairy Management unit is set for Thursday evening December 7. People may still join with a one dollar tuition.

Damage Suit Settled for Fifteen Thousand Dollars
A Kossuth County damage suit originally for fifty one thousand dollars was settled last week for fifteen thousand. The case arose from a mobile collision near Lakota on September 12, 1949, involving Melvin W. Olthoff and Willis Koppen, both killed, and passenger D W Mittag whose estate sued the Olthoff estate for negligence. The cash settlement was approved by the court with consent of both parties.

Seal Sale Progress Reports on 1950 Campaign
The Buffalo Center Tuberculosis Association reports that after fourteen days of the 1950 Christmas Seal Sale about 200 of 400 seals have been returned. Opened November 20, the sale supports year round health education and funds National research, X ray, and county programs. Reminders will be mailed to those who have not sent in payments. The campaign also supports the Iowa Heart Association in the joint effort to fight tuberculosis and heart disease.

Two Fined for OMVI Violations
George A. Lappe pled guilty to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Judge Butler ordered a $300.00 fine and costs which Lappe paid. Ottis R. V. Ferkin pled guilty to vehicle while intoxicated and was sentenced to pay a $300.00 fine and costs before Judge Butler on November 28.
