Grass Fire at College Causes Five Thousand Dollar Loss
A grass fire at A and M College on Friday afternoon destroyed two cottages and damaged a third, with contents largely saved by student aid and rapid Bryan Fire Department response. The blaze started from yard fire used in house repairs and spread through the dry grass aided by strong winds. The Lanham and Taubenhaus families lost their homes while Bagley cottage was saved with water from fire trucks.

Professors Lets Contract for College Park Residence
Prof D Scoates of A and M College agricultural engineering department has let the contract to Lone Star Construction Company for a handsome College Park residence. Excavation for basement and concrete foundation underway. The house will feature hot air furnace, real fireplace, reception hall, living room, dining room, sun parlor, kitchen and breakfast nook on the first floor. Upstairs include four bedrooms and a sleeping porch with ample closets. The same firm is remodeling Mrs R M Wilsons home at 3315 College Avenue and adding an extra apartment.
