Frock designer robbed of jewelry in New York heist

Edith Bobe, designer for Dorothy King and Louise Lawson, was robbed of 25000 dollars in jewels by four bandits after a cabaret party. Auto Agency and Mechanical Shop Open on Bryan Street

One of two new brick buildings by James Godwin on Bryan Street will house an automobile agency for Star and Durant cars with W. H. Smith as proprietor. A filling station fronts the building, and a rear repair shop and mechanical department will be run by Godwin with Pete Crenshaw and another mechanic. The business is already open.

Rescue parties reached the Kemmerer Coal Co mine at Sublet near Kemmerer Wyoming and recovered 21 bodies of miners killed in yesterday's explosion. Over 60 men were in the mine at the time. Twelve men escaped unharmed after a cave-in blocked the gas buildup following the blast.

Floods after a heavy typhoon inundate large areas of Japan with a potential death toll in the hundreds. In Tokyo thousands of houses are partially flooded, about three hundred people missing in a Saitama village, and landslides in Chiba Prefecture have caused fatalities.

R M Nall longtime Bryan Brazos county official died September 17 at his home after months of illness. Born December 30 1853 in Rusk Texas he moved to Brazos county in 1880 and served as City Marshall sheriff and tax assessor. Survived by wife three daughters two sons and siblings. Baltimore Boys Sentenced for Store Murders

In Baltimore on September 17, 17 year old Thomas Foran and 19 year old Claude Dobbs were sentenced to be hanged for the murder of Louis Cohen, a jeweler, during a store hold up. A third boy, Charles Mullen, received life imprisonment.
