Death of San Angelo resident John N. Farquhar
John N. Farquhar of San Angelo died at his home after being injured by a fall while dragging a road in North Angelo. Born in Brazos county in 1848, he was 72 and a longtime county settler. He served two years as Precinct No 1 commissioner and was renominated. Surviving: his wife, five sons Floyd Sweetwater Francis Ranger Charlie Cisco Will El Paso Grover Akron Ohio, and sister Mrs. Johnnie Donnell Belton.

Sheriff Snow Shot by Arresting Officer’s Ally
Sheriff Joe Snow of Brazoria County was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon by a man he was trying to arrest. Oscar Beasley was captured Thursday and indicted for murder by the grand jury. A mob of about 300 later overpowered deputies, stormed the jail, and hanged Beasley.
