Cotton Growers Organized in Brazos County Texas

By Wellington Brink Corpus Christi Texas Sept 21 Last year three four ts of a million bales of cotton were produced in the United Cotton Growers Association area. The 44 Texas counties now organized represent the heart of the cotton belt. The association reports 792 719 bales produced in 1919 across listed counties with Brazos at 7 625. Hillsboro hosted the best meeting with 1 500 farmers attending. Organizers, membership goals, and plans to expand to 100 000 members and 172 counties are outlined with aim to cover the South.

District Court to Convene Next Monday for September Term

The regular September term of the district court will convene next Monday September 20 with Judge W Davis presiding. The grand jury will be empanelled on the first day and bailiffs to wait on the grand jury and serve all processes will be sworn. The civil docket will be called and cases set for trial. There will be no petit jury for the first week due to no jury trials until the second week.
