Funeral services were held for Mrs. Belle Ransom at College Avenue Baptist Church on Tuesday morning. The service featured lavender and gold chrysanthemums around the pulpit and casket, with a pink rose bud and fern spray. An escort from Earl Graham Post, American Legion, led the proceedings.

Booze Dropped by Negro Arrest Raises Transport Charge
Chief Tillis and Officer Lee chased Robinson Luckey after he took a suspicious package from Spadadine. He fled a block and a half dropping the container splashing liquid on the sidewalk. Luckey was arrested and charged with transporting intoxicating liquor.

The Bryan and Brazos County Chamber of Commerce committee outlines plans for the fall opening night on Friday September 22. The event begins with a Bryan Community Band concert at 7 30 in the business district. Afterward stores will display fall displays and hand out souvenirs during a store inspection period. A Main Street style show will follow with a parade on a built platform and the Collegians orchestra will close with a street dance.

Wreck on South College Avenue Injures Vehicle But Not Occupants
Failure of brakes led to a noon collision on South College Avenue in front of the Marshall Bullock and Henry Locke homes. Mrs. Victor Edge drove south and signaled turning into the Locke driveway as a second car overtook on the right. The second car struck a curb and cedar tree, causing extensive damage but no injuries. Names of the occupants of the other vehicle were not known.

Highway to College Tragic Bicycle Fatality Near College
Earl Jones eleven year old son of Mr and Mrs W M Jones was killed when struck by a car driven by W S Tyler on Highway No 69 toward College. The driver stated he sounded his horn but the bicycle rider veered into the car path. Funeral services were held at McCulloch Dansby chapel with burial at Steep Hollow cemetery. He is survived by his parents three brothers and two sisters and numerous relatives.

Burglar Frightened Away After Piling Up Loot
Mr and Mrs John Miniatis found their home ransacked on West ton avenue Sunday night. A thief had cut a window screen and piled clothing and personal property to steal. Mrs Miniatis grabbed her baby and fled to a neighbor, alerting others. The burglar fled, leaving the loot behind.
