Burglars Haul Safe From Buchanan Store at Kurten
Burglars broke into W. H. Buchanan's Kurten store Monday night or Tuesday morning, hauled the safe away on a truck, and opened it after dumping it near Highway No 21. They reportedly earned about 35 dollars in currency and avoided destroying papers inside. The crime mirrored a prior burglary at the August Prenzel store and Kurten post office.
