Texas Lawmakers Battle Tax Spenders Over Public Debt Safeguards
The Texas Legislature wrapped a special session with bills strengthening tax protections and delaying debt incurrence without voter approval. It rejected broad relaxations sought by tax spenders, passing measures to reform delinquent tax collection, allow lending against delinquent taxes, and standardize county records. Critics warned amendments could loosen limits, but proponents say the moves shield taxpayers and preserve the Bond and Warrant Law.

Why the Sudden Change to Liquid Laxatives
Doctors cite the benefits of measured liquid laxatives for controlled effective movement without discomfort. Public use is rising as it can be tailored to individual needs, avoids habit formation, and is gentler on the kidneys. Dr Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin is advertised as safe and non dependent, available at druggists.
Critique of Public Works and Debt Use in Hard Times
The speaker argues insolvent government units won’t restore prosperity and calls for no self liquidating golf courses or indigent cockroach housing funded by 30 percent Fed aid. City and county leaders should consult taxpayers before pet projects and curb credit use from boom days to fix budgets.
