City Advances Water Line On College Avenue Project

A small banana tree fruit was found on a tree near the Central Texas Company yard south of Bryan. The fruit, about five inches long and not fully yellow, tasted coarse and mushy yet not disagreeable. The report was brought to the Eagle by M. M. rkire of the Central Texas Auto Company for editorial review. Funeral services referenced note Gen. George W. Short Family Mourns Death of Mother in Decatur

Mrs A K Short and daughters Violet and Marjorie returned from Decatur Wisconsin where they were summoned by the death of Mr Short's mother Mrs De W Short Friday evening. Mr Short, an agronomist at A and M College, left Thursday for his mother's bedside and was present with his brothers.

At the Tabor Edge Steele's Store in Kurten a jar of matches was set as a contest prize by Gre A Adams Insurance Agency. Ninety seven guesses were submitted with estimates from 190 to 10,000,000. The correct number was 1,962 and T W Beard of Edge guessed 1,968 winning five dollars. Second place went to Joe Ferrera of Steeles Store. judges were J Wayne and R E Kellner.
