Winston Churchill told the House of Commons that Germany has a military air force rapidly approaching parity with Great Britain. He warned English defense was inadequate and urged Britain to strengthen security as re armament expands. He noted Nazi control means few men can order an attack.
James L. Robinson, 72, longtime journal clerk of the Texas house of representatives, died Tuesday after a lingering illness. A Centerville native and former weekly publisher, he had served continuously since the 23rd biennial session and was honored in the Forty-third legislature's last session. He also farmed in recent years.

Belgrade charges Hungary with complicity in the murder of King Alexander. Yugoslav memorandum to the League of Nations asserts the crime was planned on Hungarian territory, criminals fled Hungary, and assassinations were aided by Hungarian actions abroad.
The College Avenue Baptist church invites all who have no local church home to join its 7 pm Thanksgiving service. Rev. W B Breazeale will give a brief message and attendees may testify to blessings received, followed by prayer and thanks.

The group will attend the churchs Thanksgiving prayer service. General superintendent J Sidney Smith urges all officers and teachers to attend and visitors are welcome.
Girl Scouts of Troop 2 met Saturday morning at Sue Haswell Memorial Park with good attendance. Mascot Suzy attended as bead work, makeup boxes, and knitting crafts were begun.
The relief administration announced December relief allotments totaling 130 million dollars with Texas receiving 3.554 million and a larger November total of 735 million.
Patti Wilson Sims widow of Col. M. W. Sims died at her home in Bryan at 7 am after a long illness. A longtime civic leader in woman’s club and welfare work, she will be buried in Bryan City Cemetery after services at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. She helped organize district branches for broader club activity and was born to Col. and Mrs. Tom Wilson in Harrison County. Continued on Page 6.
Police tie five visitors to a Duncanville campsite to five bodies found in the mountains Saturday. A camp proprietress identified a photo of the slain woman as a guest who stayed at her camp near Philadelphia.
Hon Henry A Turner of Madisonville candidate for State Senator from the fifth district spoke in Bryan today en route from Austin. Turner is a veteran lawmaker with four consecutive terms in the Legislature from the 56th district covering Madison and Leon counties.
Members of the Stephen F. Austin High School pep squad report tuberculosis fund sales totaling 24 dollars from Red Cross jangles.
City school superintendent S M Brown and several principals and teachers from Stephen F Austin high Travis elementary and Bowie elementary will attend the State Teachers Association meeting in Galveston from Thursday through the weekend. Henry Ross and N R Smith of the high school and others from Travis and Bowie will also participate with Ross listed on the vocational agriculture program.
Baby Face Nelson was found dead in a ditch at Niles Center Illinois after being shot five times in the stomach, twice in the chest, and five times in each leg by Inspector Samuel P. Cowley and Agent Herman E Hollis who were killed in the line of duty. The announcement was made by Attorney General Cummings.
Chicago dispatch reports agent Cowley died from wounds after a gunfight with gangster George Nelson. The clash left Federal Agent Herman Hollis dead. The government chase for Nelson spurred mass police action across northern Illinois with orders to shoot first. Nelson blamed for Hollis demise.
Dr. Fred W. Jensen spoke at Bryan Rotary noon meeting about stratosphere flights and chemistry problems. He described atmospheric layers, past balloon missions, and the Kepner 1934 flight as highly informative, noting risks and limited data from early attempts. An inter-city Rotary meeting was announced for Taylor on December 6 with Bryan invited.
The body of George Nelson once dubbed Public Enemy No 1 was found in a ditch today after he killed two Department of Justice agents in retribution for a public safety incident in Dillinge. Nelson was the chief aide of Dillinge’s figures.
Austin November 28 Allred announced James Vi Anderson a Texas University law professor as tax commissioner. It marks the first public appointment of the new administration. Anderson a Falls County native attended Weatherford College and the University and served in the 42nd Legislature.

County home demonstration agents met in Bryan for a Monday and Tuesday conference led by landscape specialist Miss Onah Jacks. They toured Edge to plant 180 cuttings at Bill Pack's home, then set foundation plantings at Cal Graham's south of College Station. Final session occurred at Bryan city hall with agents including Ina Mae Thomiseh Giddings and Alma Metcalfe Bryan.
