Jones Granted West Point Appointment after Exam

Gaynor B. Jones passed the entrance examination for West Point held in San Antonio in March and will report June 14. He previously attended A. and M. College before leaving to prepare, a path seen as his life's ambition and his friends celebrate the honor.

183 Senior ROTC cadets to attend Camp Sheridan

President Bizzell announced 183 young men from the senior division ROTC at college will be admitted to the officers training camp at Camp Sheridan. They must report to the commandant and will be sent by a special train arriving June 4. The trip departs May 41 and the course runs until July 3. Some sophomores may qualify if they meet physical requirements.

Guion hall, new assembly building at A and M College, was dedicated with students, faculty, and business leaders present. John S. Guion of Ballinger received the address, Dr. W. B. Bizzell led the ceremony, and Major L. L. Melnnis recalled early campus life as cadet uniforms and military training were praised. The building seats 2100 to 2500, cost details were given, and the event included a piano solo and a benediction after an afternoon drill and a reception.

Millions of Wounded Return to Front by Germans

New York May 24. Over two and a half million wounded and sick men have been returned to the fighting front and nearly 700000 have been discharged as unfit for service, according to a statement by Surgeon General Schula4 to the Reichstag.
