Ten Mile Zone Law Upheld by Texas Court of Appeals

Austin May 22 The court of criminal appeals upheld the ten mile zone law around military camps to shield soldiers in training. The measure, broadened to cover shipyards and aviation fields, banned saloons within the zone effective April 16. Fort Worth man Hollingsworth was jailed for selling whisky inside the zone, with a habeas corpus suit and $3000 bail following.

Cadet’s Brother Chauffeur for Pershing on Western Front

W R Bill Lattimore of Fort Worth son of Senator and Mrs O S Lattimore and brother of R B Lattimore agricultural sophomore is now Pershing’s chauffeur on the western front. He drove the car that carried Secretary Baker during an inspection tour of trenches in France and Flanders. He enlisted early in the war and has been recommended by General Samples for a chauffeur sergeancy.
