Winners of the Texas A&M College cotton contest will undertake a ten month tour of the United States and Europe. Assisting are E. B. J. Gwin, Oene wile, O. M Lanrs ton, and L. P. Stewart with J. S. Onion crop half shipped in PSS district by May 1

Estimated on May 1 that about 50 percent of the PSS district onions had been shipped and by May 15 the remaining stock would be marketed. The month saw about 800 car loads including broiler and other secondary grades, with a "million dollar" crop shipped from Laredo.

The census bureau reports April cotton consumption at 470 685 bales of lint and 54 731 of intermediates, down from March. Public storage holds 6 151 367 bales of lint and 2227 intermediates, with April imports at 27 527 bales. Spindles active reach 21 414 680, down from March and April of last year.

Weekend Visitors Share Time at Local Homes

A busy weekend as several Bryan visitors including Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Henry and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Henry stop by the area. Miss Velma Moore and Mrs. P. S. Blind Richmond stenographer plans solo two week air tour

Laura Gregory a 32 year old blind stenographer from Richmond Va sat at Keneas City Airport and described her plan for a two week air tour to prove a blind person can travel alone by plane. She types more than 100 letters daily and hopes to inspire other blind people to travel.

Bryan Man Taken To Houston For Whiskey Charge

Lee Sausley was arrested Tuesday by federal agents on sale and transport of whiskey charges and was taken to Houston Wednesday by Officer Oswald Gerrard. Other charges to be tried in Brazos county district court. Local raid of the Sausley home yielded substantial whiskey. Constable Horace Reed Police Chief Tillis and Motorcycle Officer Howard led the raid.

Bryan Girl Among UT Algebra Test Leaders

Miss Ann Bentley of Bryan led with 90 plus in freshman algebra and geometry tests at the University of Texas. The report by Miss Mary E. Decherd notes 67 freshmen scored above 90, with 66 in 90 or 89, 69 in 70s, 106 in 66 to 69, and 113 in 50s. Top high schools were Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Galveston, and San Antonio.
