Kings Highway School Close After Rain Out

May 14 Kings Highway reports the school closing on Friday after a rainstorm halted the program. J. B. Walker ends a satisfactory term as principal with Miss Jewel Baugh assisting. About 100 students planned for next year with hope for a third teacher.

Community Club Feasts and School Cooking Lesson

A rural gathering at Cross reports a fine time with the boys and girls club led by County Agent C. L. Benson and Miss Laura Belle Roten. Club members cooked a noon meal in Mrs. Koppe’s kitchen, served fried chicken salads ham cake ice cream and tea, while Brittian Henderson won a candy prize for best project report. The meeting adjourned to a June first Saturday joint gathering with additional attendees from Bryan and Kurten.
