Professors Cook to Return Home from Bryan Visit

Prof and Mrs C B Cook of Pittsburg Pa plan leaving Wednesday for their home after three months visiting their daughter Mrs Chas Marten and family of A and M College in Bryan and a month in Marlin for hot baths. Cook spent fifty three years teaching in Pennsylvania schools, thirty six in Pittsburgh. He is retired on salary and looks forward to vacation with friends in College and Bryan until next year.

Katie Daffan, life secretary, says Hood's Texas Brigade will hold its fifty third annual reunion in Bryan on June 25 and 26. Millican Community Notes of May Events

The Missionary Society meeting was postponed due to rain and W C Pool illness. The 1924 class baccalaureate will be at the M E church Wednesday night May 14 with Rev R L Brown preaching. Millican High School closing exercises are Friday night May 16. Jane Harrington and Winnie Burrows visited Bryan. Sam Hunter conducted business in the city. A large crowd attended the Alexander singing convention. a return here is hoped.

Methodist Missionary Society Meets on Monday

Local groups of the Methodist Missionary Society held Monday afternoon meetings. Group 1 gathered at Mrs. S. D. Pearce home with eleven on roll. eighty Bible chapters read and 65 visits to the sick reported since the last meeting. Group 3 met with Group 8. Mrs. H N Cochran and Rev H C Willis led the session.

Sunday school gathering for foreigners in Brazos Bottom

Mrs. Goodwin led a report on the Sunday school work among foreigners on her Brazos Bottom plantation. Mrs. Albert Hanneman was elected secretary-treasurer, replacing Mrs. Waldrop.
