County Judge H O Ferguson reports the Jones Bridge over the Brazos in bad condition after recent high water. He closed the bridge to traffic until repairs can be made, water recedes enough for work. At the noon Lions Club luncheon in Bryan officials reported the drive netted 733.70 for the city school library. Former Bryan Boy Awarded Honors

William Foster of Waco architectural student earned the sole appointment for a Texas University student to attend the Fontainebleau School of Fine Arts near Paris France. He will sail June 9 on the French steamship Na gra. The French government conducts the school with a noted faculty. Sever al University of Texas students attended last summer. R L Brogdon Seriously Ill at Bryan Hospital

R L Brogdon local business man and prominent citizen of the city is reported seriously ill at Bryan Hospital after Sunday night illness. An operation for ulcerated stomach was performed and relatives expect a crisis by Wednesday or Thursday. Daughters Daisy and Aline arrived from Austin and sister Mrs H H Henry and brother J W Brogdon came to the bedside.

Copy of Bryan Eagle Found at Woodmen Hall

A preserved copy of The Bryan Eagle dated April 5 1894 was presented to Eagle management by C T Tarkington. The eight page yellowed issue from Woodmen's Lodge Hall is addressed to Wm Stewart and contains a graphic concise account of South Carolina's liquor law along with local news items.

Secretary Oversees Office as Bryan Ice Company Upgrades

Miss Agnes Jameson of Navasota serves as Secretary to Mr. Farmer and oversees the office during his absence. The company removes an eye-sore pile of worn-out ice cans and installs a painted fence around leased property. New delivery system equips wagons with scales and square-cut ice pieces to fit any ice box, promising accurate weight and better service.

Steep Hollow News Buoys Town as Roads Reopen

Steep Hollow residents faced a wet Sunday but roads allowed travel as Rev. Upton, the local pastor, could not reach his services. Major W. R.
