Governor Moody faces a critical decision today on a stay or commute for O C Wells who was sentenced to death for murder. If no action is taken Wells will be electrocuted tonight at Huntsville state prison.
The Cleveland Clinic fire on May 15 at the X-ray film department caused 123 deaths. Today Henry Lustig a 48 year old attorney and theater operator died, adding to the toll.
Gov Dan Moody designated Friday as Flag Day and urged Texas to display the American flag to mark the 152nd anniversary of the Continental Congress adopting the Stars and Stripes. He called the flag a symbol of national solidarity and freedom.
Sherman June 13 Dr H K Taylor of Southern Methodist University told the North Texas Conference of the Epworth League that improper sex relations threaten humanity He denounced nudity and defined the modern flapper as a girl dressed to show herself off He urged two years of courtship home weddings joint social life for husband and wife and going into debt to buy a home.
The cotton market showed a small uptick with futures finishing 15 points higher. Local spot prices ranged from 17 to 17.50 cents.
Impeachment charges against J. T. Robison land office commissioner open in the Texas House at 11 AM with witnesses requested from Governor Moody and ex Governor Ferguson. Prosecutors Allen and Freeman say they will proceed and have asked that no witnesses be summoned initially.

Miss Ralphana Searcy daughter of Dr and Mrs C A Searcy leaves Bryan tomorrow for an annual Caribbean educational tour with over 80 students from US universities. The ship will stop at Havana Panama Canal and key South American ports en route to a Havana return and a July arrival in New Orleans featuring a grand opera event.
SAN ANTONIO June 13. L. H. Troup aged 84 was killed in a midair collision involving two planes. One other occupant survived unharmed. Investigators opened a probe into the crash circumstances and flight paths.
In Rabat on June 13 French troops pressed toward the Atlas Mountains to rescue eighty three officers and soldiers captured after a battle near El Bord and Ait Yacoub. Authorities feared torture or death for the prisoners while pursuing rebels who ambushed a reconnaissance patrol, killing thirteen and wounding ten.
A First State Bank of San Antonio messenger was held up by a lone bandit aboard a bus. The thief rode with the messenger for a short distance, robbed him of about $18,000, then forced the bus driver to stop. He escaped in a car driven by an accomplice.
J H White Jr a local A P store manager oversees final fittings for a Bryan opening. The store mirrors a Houston unit and will feature government inspected meats poultry and fish with refrigerated display and modern shelving to aid shoppers.
S E Eberstadt secretary of the chamber of commerce left today for Groveton to assist tomorrow in an all day short course. He goes at the request of Groveton and East Texas chamber officials. Five sessions are planned and he is on the program for each. He will return to Bryan Saturday.
Miss Effie Rice and Miss Peyton of Benchley went to Bryan to purchase a piano for community and public schools. The first payment was funded by a box social run by County Agent C. L. Benson and S. Eberstadt, secretary of the chamber of commerce.

Advices from Washington claim an actual agreement on the long running religious controversy was reached in Mexico City with communications for papal sanction sent to Rome. No official statement was issued but the meeting between President Gil and Roman Catholic prelates is believed to cap months of negotiations and settle the basis for a settlement.
Washington June 13 Public release of population statistics for the 1930 decennial census would occur in each of about 500 districts after data gathering rather than after Washington tabulation. Census Director William M Steuart says this aims to detect inaccuracies before permanent recording. An estimated 100000 enumerators will canvass homes with 6000 to 8000 more to be hired later. Miami report states Pan American Airways passenger mail plane was forced down near Santiago Cuba and radio operator John M. Griffin was killed. Also noted is an application to use 40 million cubic feet of residue gas in Gray county Texas for a carbon black plant by Phillips Petroleum in the Bowers pool south of Pampa.
Idaho officials report thousands of men and boys combed the countryside for four young bandits who abducted Lt. Gov W B Kinne and two would be rescuers. Kinne escaped after being tied to a tree. motive appears to be robbery and theft of his automobile.
A City Council of Parent-Teacher Associations was organized Wednesday at a called meeting by Mrs E O Siecke of College Station district president of the Texas Congress of Mothers and Parent-Teacher Associations at the home of Mrs Albert Buchanan on West 24th Street. The growth of PTA work in Bryan and the recent formation of a third association in the city necessitated the council to advance the national program and local interests.
A Bryan committee of D L Wilson H A Burger and Oak McKenzie traveled to Houston to review school equipment samples and the municipal building display for a large city contract. They will compare local bids with Houston prices and assess sample quality submitted to Houston officials.
A house owned by George A. Adams burned to ashes last night in the western part of the city. The occupant, a Negro woman at church, was away when the blaze began and did not return until the structure was already destroyed. Insurance coverage totaled about 400 dollars with an estimated loss around 500 dollars. The alarm came after the fire had a strong start and the roof collapsed once the department arrived.

Jasper June 13 Wool sold for 32 to 34 cents per pound in a sale of 14000 pounds to a Baltimore firm. The wool came from near Jasper Buna and Kirbyville and indicates a large production increase from six years ago when the first local wool sale was held.
A spend the day party for the Willing Workers Class of First Methodist Church, Bryan, was hosted by Mrs. Drew W. Fagan at her West 26th Street home. Activities included crayfishing, games, a bubble blowing contest won by Kirby Joyce McKenzie, and a visit to Sue Haswell Memorial Park for swimming and fun. Japanese fans were given as favors.
