County Trustees Adopt Local Teacher Policy for Negro Schools
The Brazos Colored Teachers Association prompted the County Board of Trustees to favor employing local teachers in negro schools. Trustees appointed W W Loftin and George Wilson, reclassified Independence Rye and Tabor as elementary, with Tabor offering some high school work. Bond money shifted to maintenance for Edge, and districts 12 tuition aid toward Bryan schools was recommended. The board adjourned to meet the first Saturday in July.

The Bryan Community Band directed by Henry Locke will give its second goodwill concert in Iola Friday night replacing Hearne due to a scheduling conflict. Rotary Governor From Bryan Heads to Seattle Meet
Col. C. C. Todd newly elected Rotarian Governor of District 47 and Mrs. Todd will leave Wednesday for the Rotary International convention in Seattle from June 20 to 24. Beforehand he will attend a training school for district governors in Victoria British Columbia from June 14 to start of the Seattle event. Open 10 Women as Texas A and M Hosts Summer Registration
More than 450 prospective students for the first term of the summer session at Texas A and M College passed the fiscal office Tuesday afternoon as registration began at 8 am and continued through Wednesday and Thursday. Strake No. 2 Well Flows Near Conroe
Two Bryan men R M Dansby and J R Fain watched Strake Oil Corp South Development No 2 six miles east of Conroe come in Sunday with an estimated flow of 3000 to 7000 barrels. The well blew briefly above the tool then settled to about 2000 barrels through a 3 eighths inch choke. Reports say Heep Oil Corp General Freeman No 1 may come in Tuesday. The drill stem test surfaced in 21 minutes and the well is slightly deeper than 5000 feet.
