Three German POWs Escape Into Mexico From Camp McIntosh

San Antonio July 16 The three German prisoners Fritz Plate William Hantke and Julius Scholtfeldt who broke parole June 26 from Camp McIntosh Laredo fled into Mexico and have not been recaptured. Robert L Barnes of the Justice Department says Mexicans are helping locate them as American agents previously detained them while attempting to cross into Mexico before registration day.

Offering of Cotton Fifteen Years Old

W H Dozier of Thompson Creek in Bryan today brought two bales of cotton to market. The cotton, grown in 1902, is from his last crop and he says he will not return to cotton farming. Dozier ran a 100 acre farm devoted to cattle, cowpeas, and corn with about 75 head of cattle.

Brazos County Probate Court Sets 9 A M Docket

The Brazos county probate court opened this morning with Judge Maloney presiding. The probate docket is set for Wednesday at 9 a m. All civil and criminal cases pending in county court have been transferred to the district court under a legislative act reducing county court jurisdiction. Defendants on bond must appear at this term, while the county court will face the district court in the term beginning September 17.
