Why Rural People Move to the Cities and Church Reform

The Bryan Weekly Eagle argues that rural depopulation stems from persistent unhappiness in country life. It urges rural unity through consolidated churches, schools, and local leadership, led by stronger pastors and a resident doctor, to keep youths home and improve community welfare. It contrasts united communities as productive with disunited ones failing to meet national drives like liberty loans and Red Cross goals. It also comments on Texas politics, urging adherence to constitutional law over Ferguson’s impeachment controversy.
