Reunion honors 100th birthday of Mrs. Ellen Thompson

At J. T. Sawyer home in Millican Texas January 22 1926 a reunion dinner celebrated Mrs. Ellen Thompson born January 22 1826 in Bib County Alabama. Five living children and many grandchildren were present among variegated Thompson descendants and friends.

Bryan Woman's Club Leads Crape Myrtle City Effort in Texas

The Bryan Woman's Club urges citizens to plant crape myrtle shrubs at low cost, noting the plant as hardy and bloom rich from May through summer. Chairman Mrs. J. W. Thirty-Eighth Anniversary of Texas A&M Experiment Station

Special to the Eagle College Station reports January 25 marks the 38th anniversary of the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station. It recounts origins under Congress 1887 funding, early joint work with Mississippi roots, growth to sixteen divisions and fifteen substations, and a staff expansion from four teachers to seventy-three scientists.

Mrs W I McReynolds returned Sunday from College Station where she stayed with her sister Mrs A B Connor whose husband is connected with the A and M agricultural department. She attended Mrs Connor's luncheon honoring Mrs B Youngblood president of the fourth district of women's clubs on her birthday. Two Negro Boys Arrested for Theft of Bicycles

Two boys around school age were arrested after complaints led Sheriff Jess Conlee to recover two stolen bicycles. They were identified as Otis Powell and Eugene Jones. One bicycle belonged to Sam B. Wilson store and the other to James Drug Store. Both bikes were recovered.

Burleson County will employ a full time county public health nurse starting February 1 after the county commissioners approved the $1500 funding without dissension. Robertson County is also weighing a similar full-time nursing program.
