First Christian Church to Rebuild After Fire

A joint meeting of the Build id Finance Committees proposes a new BCH home on the fire site. Ernest Langford of the Agricultural and Mechanical College will submit plans and supervise construction. Debris clearing starts soon as donations pour in from citizens and denominations.

McCain Home Reports Daughter Better After Illness

H. H. McCain pastor of the Methodist Church of Bryan reports his daughter, Mrs. W. O. Williams, is improving after an appendicitis operation performed Monday. The operation was successful though recovery will take several days. Parishioners and the pastor await further news as he returns home.

Park Rejoins after inspection trip to Texas commanderies

P. S. Park, grand generalissimo of the Grand Commandery of Texas Knights Templar, returns from an inspection tour of commanderies in the southern part of the state. He reports all commanderies in good condition with notable enthusiasm among the bodies in San S, Columbus, Yoakum, and N azales.

Ramsey Home Fire No Damage Reported In City

The J. Z. Ramsey residence in the southeast city area caught fire this afternoon likely from a spark near an adjacent house. Fire crews arrived around 1 30 PM and stopped the blaze with less than five dollars of damage to the structure, noting no water damage to contents.

Fire destroys home of Mrs. Alice Ball in city

The two story seven room home of Mrs. Alice Ball in the southeastern city section was consumed by fire this morning with losses estimated at 8000 to 10000. Insurance covers about 7000. Contents were largely lost. Fire caused by wiring or a flue. Chief C. E. Jenkins recently elected. Fire crews saved adjoining structures despite high winds.

Catholic Chapel to Rise at A and M College Texas

Ground will begin this month on a $20 000 Catholic Chapel and Center at the A and M College of Texas funded by the Knights of Columbus. Rev Father J B Gleissner will oversee. site on two lots near the gravel road, east of the Methodist Tabernacle. Construction aims for completion by early April with work starting in February.

Ball Family Relocation After House Fire Near College Avenue

Mrs. Alice Ball and her family including Miss Mary Bell Ball Charley Ball and Frank P Martin with wife and child occupy the Ball house. They move this afternoon to a house beside Professor Cobb on College Avenue. Neighbors assisted in removing Collard home furniture during the fire as a precaution against loss.
