Methodist Groups Report Meetings Held On Monday
The Woman's Missionary Society of the Methodist church held five Monday meetings. Group One met at Mrs. Oak McKenzie with devotion led by Mrs. M R Bentley and study on Paul. Group Two gathered at Mrs. W B Cline with prayer, scripture by Mrs. E A Harder, and a social hour with refreshments. Group Three met with Mrs. R Downard as nine members attended and officers were chosen. Group Four met with Mrs A K Short, ten members present, China program discussed. Group Five met with Mrs N B Allen and Mrs O A Ashworth. 17 members and 2 visitors attended. social hour featured chicken salad and tea. Visitors from San Antonio attended Group Five.

Chief Justice Flynn of the Fourth Court of Civil Appeals upholds the Texas Ranger Law finding it constitutional and restores Rangers to their former status. The ruling reverses a district court judgment, dismisses the case, and condemns unlawful acts by Rangers and supporters though expressing no approval of such conduct.

Pecan Budding Demonstration Planned in Tabor Field
County Agent C. L. Beason and District Agent A. W. Buchanan surveyed the Fred W. Locke farm at Tabor on Tuesday for a pecan budding demonstration. Locke’s land on Bee Creek hosts several hundred young native pecan trees set for budding with fine paper shell stock. The Brazos County pecan industry has strong growth potential, the agents say.

Grasshopper Eggs In Brownwood Hold Strong Viability
Observations show severe winter has not greatly reduced grasshopper egg fertility. Gable of the U.S. Entomological Laboratory found about 80 percent of eggs in good condition near Brownwood in early February 1925, a level similar to last year. Farmers should monitor known infestation sites and use bran mash baits if hoppers appear to prevent outbreaks. Public updates will follow.
