Six A M Holsteins Make Butterfat Record

Six registered Holstein cows at Texas A and M College surpassed forty pounds of butterfat in the latest monthly herd test. Colantha Norine Fayne led with 62.2 pounds fat and 2100 pounds milk, followed by Nadine Prince Jamaica at 60.1 pounds fat and 1890 pounds milk. Tidy Princes Jamaica was second in milk with 2080 pounds and third in fat at 59.4 pounds. Colantha and Tidy Princess, a junior two year old, finished in 327 days with 586.7 pounds fat and 12,911.8 pounds milk in Class B.

Pneumonia Fatal To Brazos Woman

Mrs. Ollie Scott died at the Cameron Ranch four miles northeast of Bryan after a five day illness of flu pneumonia. She had lived in Bryan and Brazos county for 22 years and was active in St Andrews Episcopal Church. Funeral services were held in Bryan Saturday at 10 AM conducted by Rev. L A Wilson. Survived by husband Peter Scott and sister Mrs Lula Grande of Memphis Tennessee.

Bryan High girls rally past Free Will Baptist for 50–24 win

Bryan High girls defeated Free Will Baptist 50 to 24 at Bowie gym in a tight BFYPS league game. The lead changed hands several times as Free Baptists closed within one before Bryan High pulled away late. Officials were Nettie Nedbalek and Julia Schovajsa.

City Accepts Bids for South College Avenue Sewer Work

The city has taken bids on pipe and tile for the South College Avenue sewer project and will start construction once rights of way are secured, weather permitting.

Normangee Teacher Undergoes Emergency Operation

Miss Jewell Batson teacher in a rural Waller county school near Hempstead underwent an emergency operation Saturday at 9 o'clock at a local clinic and is resting well. Her mother Mrs L J Batson traveled from Normangee to Bryan to be with her and will stay until her daughter improves.

Former Bryan Pastor Attends Brazos Meeting

Rev. E C Morris formerly led the Free Will Baptist church in Bryan and his wife attended the Brazos County Free Baptist Quarterly meeting in Bryan Saturday. Morris now serves as state extension worker for the Free Baptists with headquarters in Waco. They planned to travel to North Zulch for an appointment Sunday.

Bryan High Bronchos defeated Temple Tigers 27 23 in a hard fought game. Black and Long led Bryan with strong defense and scoring while Montgomery paced Temple with 7 points. Edge added 8 for Bryan as Tiger late rally fell short.

Income Tax Man Coming to Bryan in March

Announcement by J. W. Bass Collector of Internal Revenue states a deputy will visit Bryan March 3 from 8 AM to 5 PM at the chamber of commerce to assist federal taxpayers in preparing their returns.
