In Brazos County at noon Tuesday 554 ex service men had filed bonus payment applications at the Bryan Red Cross office. Local American Legion Post and Red Cross secretary help with forms. About 5 percent of adjusted certificates are for full value. 95 percent are for half. Between 700 and 800 holders exist. only about half have applied. Registrations urged to complete processing soon.

Navasota Youth Injured When Auto Hits Pole
George Smoot of Navasota suffered severe cuts to the throat and face when the car driven by Morris Lee struck a telephone pole on South College Avenue near Highway No 6. The wrecked vehicle drew another collision from a southbound car driven by W J Johnson of Dallas. Smoot was in Wilkerson Memorial Clinic in stable condition as investigators from the courthouse consider grand jury action. The car belonged to Richard Sullivan of Navasota.

Five Auto Wheels Stolen From Unlocked Garages
Thieves took five auto wheels and casings from unlocked garages Wednesday night. Mrs. Jess Hensarling lost three feed wheels from her car and H. H. Hall's vehicle yielded two Chevrolet wheels and casings. Sheriff Nunn urged locking garages and other storage buildings to deter further thefts.

Man Reported Dead Comes to Life in Sheriff Office
Daniel Rivas alias Esparza reappeared in Sheriff Rk W Nunn’s office after being reported dead about a month earlier. He faces possession of marihuana charges and is linked to Jesse Barios in a burglary case involving Lawrence Grocery Company. New Low Record For Fire Losses Lowers Premium
Due to a stronger fire record through 1935 the city adds a three percent credit on fire insurance premiums. The new credit brings the rate to 15 percent effective March 1. Once a “hot town” Bryan now has a higher rating than many peers, with $75,000 annual city property premiums indicating substantial savings. The key rate stands at 17 cents and may drop further as mains are replaced and hydrants expanded.

Grandmother of Bryan Man Dies in Houston
