Texas Tick Eradication Pioneered by A and M College
Dr Francis recalls the tick fever fight in Texas led by A and M College beginning 1890 with Dr Cooper Curtis and the Kilberg vat method. Government quarantine lines, dipping campaigns, and compulsory county dipping lifted infections from over half of the infested area. The work advanced cattle immunity, reduced mortality, and improved hides, turning Texas into a global cattle producer.
